What to Clean and When (A household schedule)

victoria Here is a basic household cleaning regimen to build off of. If you were like me when I sat down to make my list I forgot everything! lol

Everyday
~Wipe down kitchen countertops and sink
~Sweep floors
~take out garbage
~Wash the dishes

Weekly
~Clean tub, toilets, showers and sinks
~Change bed linens
~Do laundry
~Wipe down appliances
~Vacuum carpets, drapes and upholstery*
~Mop the floors
~Dust light fixtures, shelves, wall art, furniture, and banisters*
~Clean mirrors
~Clean out fridge and pantry (before grocery shopping)

Monthly
~Clean the inside of microwave and dishwasher
~Dust ceiling fans*
~Clean kitchen and bathroom cabinets
~Vacuum molding, baseboards, and AC vents
~Scrub burner grates
~Clean or replace vent-hood filter
~Disinfect garbage cans
~Wipe down light switches, doors and doorknobs
~Blowout electronics ie computer, dvd player, keyboards.

60-90 Days
~Vacuum and flip mattresses**
~Sweep ceilings*
~Clean the fireplace
~Clean the oven
~Clean the windows
~Replace AC vent filter*
~Dust mini-blinds*
~Dust/wipe walls

Yearly
~Sort through closets to decide what clothing and toys to keep or donate
~Shampoo carpets
~Wash outside windows
~Replace batteries in smoke/carbon detectors (check extinguishers)
~Steam-clean upholstery and drapes***
~Scrub patio furniture
~Pressure wash the house, deck, patio, driveway, swing set, mailbox, shed and porch
~Clean out yucky gutters

*Those with allergies may want to increase the frequency of those chores to help minimize irritants

** Again those with allergies increase frequency, however washing the drapery will be more beneficial.

*** Once more for those with allergies, vacuum the mattress weekly while changing the linens.

I hope this helps!
Happy cleaning ...is there such a thing?
